About

Paintings and prints

Hi, I’m Alex — a painter based between Fort McMurray and Edmonton, Alberta.

I create fine art pieces that focus mostly on nature, and the emotions tied to quiet, everyday moments. I work mainly with oil and acrylic on canvas, often blending realism with a touch of looseness that keeps each piece feeling alive and personal.

Painting started as something I did just for myself — a way to slow down and ignore the world around me. Over time, it grew into a form of therapy, something I can’t imagine not doing. I’ve always been drawn to painting wildlife, but lately my inspiration has grown to be whatever draws my attention, and my goal is to capture a sense of connection in each piece — that calm, familiar feeling that reminds us of home, comfort, or a memory we can’t quite put into words.

Each painting begins with a spark of inspiration — sometimes it’s a photo, a scene that caught my eye, or a simple idea that sticks with me. From there, I build layers of paint until it feels right. I love seeing how each layer adds depth and emotion, and how a painting slowly takes on a life of its own.

Thank you so much for being here and supporting a small Canadian artist — it truly means the world.
